Iowa Great Lakes Chapter
Disaster Services
The Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross
assists with many types of disasters including fires,
weather related destruction and flooding. Each year the
chapter will respond to 10 to 15 residential home fires in
our five county jurisdiction.
Our volunteers provide on-the-scene immediate assistance
which may include clothing, food, a place to stay and
emotional support.
The American Red Cross responds to home fires more than any
other disaster. The Red Cross also feeds emergency workers
and handles inquiries from concerned families.
The Disaster Assistance Team of the Iowa Great Lakes Chapter
is on call 24/7 and is ready to deploy to any type of
personal disaster or situation.
Persons with disaster caused
needs should
Call 712-661-8921

Each year the American Red Cross responds to 60,000 house or
apartment fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes,
hazardous material spills, transportation accidents,
explosions and other natural and man-made disasters.
